Moyenneville is in the Department of the Pas-de-Calais, 13 kilometres south of Arras and 3 kilometres east of Bapaume.

History information

The village of Moyenneville was occupied by the 7th Division on the 17th March 1917, lost at the end of the following March, and recaptured by the Guards Division on the 21st August, 1918. Two Tree Cemetery takes its name from two large trees of which the stumps exist by the roadside 64 metres to the North-East. It was made after the capture of Moyenneville in August, 1918. There are now nearly 50, 1914-18 war casualties commemorated in this site. Of these, almost 20 are unidentified. Almost all these soldiers belonged either to the 15th West Yorkshire Regiment, which held out at Moyenneville for thirty-six hours in March, 1918, or to the Guards Divisions, who re-took the ground in August. The cemetery covers an area of 208 square metres and is enclosed by a low rubble wall.
