History information

Kuressaare (late Arensburg) is a town on the South coast of the Island of Oesel, which lies across the mouth of the Gulf of Riga. The cemetery contains the grave of the Master of a merchant vessel lent to the Russian Government, and involved in the fighting in August, 1917, which led to the Russian evacuation of Riga.
