Location information

There are two ways to reach Ooty (also known as Udhagamandalam or Ootacamund). One by taking a train or plane to Coimbatore and then proceeding to Ooty via Mettupalayam by the Toy Train, or car or bus via Coonoor. The nearest airport is in Coimbatore, 100 km away. There are direct flights to Coimbatore from Chennai, Kozhikode, Bangalore and Mumbai.

Visiting information

St. Thomas Church, built in 1867, is located behind Ooty Lake and in front of the Race Course. The Church is surrounded by a well-kept cemetery. There are 2 registered WW1 graves in this churchyard, Lloyd and McLagan (Plot F-125, Plot F-151). These are located on the left side as you enter the church driveway leading to the rear of the church.
