History information
The cemetery was begun in 1857 and contains war graves of both world wars.
The 1914-1918 burials are scattered in the cemetery.
During the early part of the 1939-1945 War the local authorities set aside ground for service war graves in compartments 345 and 346, which are in the newer part of the cemetery. This small War Graves Plot also contains the graves of German and Italian servicemen who died while prisoners of war in various camps in the neighbourhood.
There are now over 30, 1914-1918 and nearly 50, 1939-1945 war casualties commemorated in this site.
