Location information

Kluang is a small town about 65 miles north of Johore Bahru, in the southern state of Johore. The cemetery is situated on a hillside west of the old garrison and about 2 miles north of the town. It is terraced out of the hillside and approached by a track and a steep uphill flight of steps leading to an arched gateway.

Kluang Gurkha Cemetery is open at all times.

Note: November 2016 - January 2017 - Major renovation work is currently taking place at this site.

History information

It was formerly a British Garrison town from the end of World War II until being garrisoned by the Malaysian army in August 1970. There are now 202 Non World War service and dependant burials here.
